Qatar: Opportunity in Qatar:

Doha is a beautiful city. I lived there with my 2 kids just before the Iraq invasion. I left because my husbands job was over. Women have no restrictions and I found lots of women that work there. Women just need to have their shoulders covered and thier knees. Women can drive including the local women. Taxi's and limo's which are very cheap will get you were you need to go. You should know where you want to go as alot of the TAxi's do not comprehend english even though they say they do. A personal driver is the best way. When you get a good one they will provide you with lots of information. An important word to know is LA! This means No! Hope this helps. Good Luck!

The umbrella is probably because no actual outside company can set up in Qatar. I understand that any comapny that wants to do business there the country or Emir has 51% ownership. Most company's there I believe operate like that. Hope that helps.

Qatar: Mother of 2 small kids moving to Doha:

Any advice would be appreciated as we are new to expat & my husband is only on single status. We are contemplating joining him prior to obtaining family status. Is this a good idea? I can only find tourist perspective on Doha. I would like a more personal perspective. Thank you.
