Pakistan: From UK To Lahore - Looking For Job:
Hi Naveed,
Its great to know you want to move to Lahore. I have made this move a while back and am still here in Lahore.
Yes similar jobs exist here, especially with the big school chains like BeaconHouse and LGS etc.
80K salary isnt a very big deal these days too. You could even have your own security company supplying security solutions to private individuals/offices.homes and still make a lot more than this. And with your training and background I am sure you could offer better than the local firms and security advisers here.
Good luck.
Pakistan: Life in Pakistan for Brit female:
Best choice of city would be Islamabad. We are a Brit family moved to Lahore which would be your second best choice. We travel to Islamabad frequently and feel it would be a better choice to live, however we have more family here in Lahore which is the reason why we still stay here.
Best time to move is during the winter or just before winter around October time. This would give you a chance to get seasoned/climated to the local climate and set up your air cons etc. You will then slowly move into the summer which is pretty warm here, but atleast this will give you a better chance and you will be prepared.
Anything specific you need advice on, please just ask and someone will try to help usually.
BTW you are Brit or Australian? (or a Brit living out in Australia and now moving to Pak?)
Good luck with your move.

Pakistan: Moving to Pakistan:
Hi Sunny,
I dont have a Pakistani spouse instead I am the Pakistani spouse :)
Lahore is a lovely place to live. We never had any problems as such living in DHA (Defence housing authority) which is a nicer part of this city. There is good security in this area.
Walking the dog should not be a problem at reasonable times of the day. Women do walk around and drive every where here. I would suggest walking with either your husband or a servant who knows the local language too until you are more familiar with the neighbourhood. But all this depends on where you live. There are certainly other areas where it is not a common sight to see women walking their dogs.
Any other questions, please fire away and someone will try to help you here.
India: Moving To India : Get aa hut in the foothills of the Himalayas!:
Apart from no airports, does it have good hospitals? Because you might just need that in the retirement age !
Pakistan: WANTING TO MOVE TO PAKISTAN:
AoA Ayesha,
depending on where you are going, you can buy most of the stuff you may need everyday. But it may take you a while to discover what stores sell what imported goods etc. So probably best if you take enough of the every day stuff to get you going and then visit the local big stores.
Which city do you plan to go to?
Feel free to PM me if needed.
Pakistan: APPLYING FOR VISA:
Hi,
Sorry to hear about the visa refusal.
Can you please tell us what type of visa you applied for, on what basis, and how long for? where did you apply from? which embassy? what reason/hint was given for refusal if any?
Please give as much details as possible so people here can try to help you.
as far as the refund is concerned I am not sure why someone should give a refund. you paid the 'application processing fee" and they processed the application. As far as I know paying fee does not automatically give the right to a visa, nor is refundable if the visa is refused.
Dont worry too much though as there are many other ways to get the visa (on different basis I mean as a tourist etc etc).
Also did they say if there is a limit on when you can re-apply for another visa?
Oh yeh, the Caps Lock key is usually situated on the left hand side of the keyboard, around the middle, try that too. It is usually just the visa application forms that are filled in Caps ;)
Thanks
MH
