France: Soy products in Lyon?:

Hi -- recently moved to Lyon and am looking for a store that carries a variety of soy products like you can get in the U.S. My daughter is a vegetarian and I'm learning to cook with soy, but haven't been able to find the products easily here. I'm looking for baked tofu, TVP(Textured Vegetable Protein), tempeh and Smart Ground. In the states, you can find these products in the Asian markets and the health food stores. Companies like LightLife make them. (Also looking for foods like jello, which my kids love and I can't find here.) Any info on where to find soy products in Lyon or via mail order is much appreciated! I've got some great recipes and would like to try them soon. ESue8215@aol.com

Global Expat Forum: Am freaking out about moving from SF bay area to Lyon France.:

Hello Sheila, I wish I could tell you how to overcome homesickness, but it just happens and sometimes it just sneaks up and takes over. Two pieces of advice: 1. Try to keep a sense of humor. 2. Share your feelings with others. You'll be surprised how many people will empathize with your feelings. Take a look at my husband's amusing anecdotes about our experience living in Germany at http://www.franknsue.com and click on Abenteuer in Deutschland -- you'll have some similar experiences, I'm sure. Write me an email at ESue8215@aol.com -- my sister is moving with her family from Northern France to Lyon this month. She moved to France years ago, still gets homesick and I'm sure she would love to share experiences with you, help you meet people and adjust to the culture. Sue http://www.franknsue.com

Germany: German Drivers License Dilemna:

I really related to the German Drivers License article on this site. I was an expat in Germany and failed the ?#@$%^ written test, or, as the Germans call it - the theoretical test, pronounced tea-or-et-i-cal. My husband passed and approached the whole experience with a better sense of humor than I - read his article "Driving Herr Wilhelm" at http://mywebpages.comcast.net/smengels/de/c13.html for a good chuckle on this subject. And, lobby for a US/Germany license agreement! Suzanne M. Engels WebArtNTech.com

Germany: Drivers License Reciprocity:

See the German Drivers License article on this site. It depends on the U.S. state that issued your current drivers license. Hi Theresa, Sounds like you are enjoying living in Germany. That's great. Wish I would have known about the Intl Womens Group while living there. I'm back in the US now developing web sites, see http://www.webartntech.com. Perhaps the group needs a web site - would you mind forwarding my note to Petra Malessa? I'd love to stay in contact with folks in the area. Best Regards, Suzanne M. Engels http://mywebpages.comcast.net/smengels
