Ecuador Welcome Forum: Cold Canadian looking for beach rental:
We have a well equipped, 3 year old 2 bedroom 1 bath rental about a 15 minute walk from the beach on the Dos Mangas road, near Manglaralto. It's been built to North American standards, and is available for long term rental. We escaped the Canadian cold 4.5 years ago!
Colombia: Guatapé & El Peñol:
Hello everyone, Just looking at the 18th-21st. We'll be in and around Guatapé & El Peñol during that time. Are there any regularly scheduled gatherings going on during that time. Just want to meet some expats in the area. Thank you Colleen

Colombia: Exploratory:
Hello everyone, A friend and myself are planning a trip to check out some of Colombia. We will be in the country from December 10 to January 7. We'll be in Bogota from Dec. 10-12th, From the 13-21. We'll be traveling through to Medellin. Our time in Medellin will be from the 21-26. Then off to Cali 28-Jan 1. Then we want to go to Pasto, but because of the Black and White Festival we haven't been able to find accommodations.
We would love to meet any expats along the way. Also any info about regular gatherings etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone have ideas about accommodation in Pasto? We are traveling on the cheap if at all possible.
Thank you
Colombia: Exploratory Look:
Hello, a friend and myself are planning an exploratory look at Columbia. We're taking about 3-4 weeks to see what we can. We're flying into Bogota where we'll spend a few days checking out the area, also Cartagena, Medellin, Cali, and Popayan, on our way back to Quito. We've both been living in Ecuador for a while and are looking for something different.
As far as being an expat goes, in all of those areas, and finding a place to live, what would you recommend for which places to see and check out. I know we wouldn't want to be in Cartagena for example because of the heat and humidity, but are there places fairly close that aren't as bad, or should we take the long bus ride up there off our list of places to check.
We're both feeling we would like to be near water, but it doesn't need to be ocean. It could be a lake or river. Temps of not more than about 30C 86F with humidity hopefully no more than about 70%. Preferable would be a bit cooler.
We don't plan on being city dwellers, but rather a small town or suburb within an hour or less of a city.
Any thought on places to check out close to these cities, and also any expat gatherings that take place in these areas would be greatly appreciated. We'll be traveling through the country from approximately the 15th of Dec arriving in Bogota, to about the 10th of Jan. Thank you
Mexico: Visitor permit:

Mexico: Where would be a temperate climate that's not too expensive to live that has some expats?:
I'm currently living in Ecuador, but am thinking it would be good to be closer to family, and in a place some of them are actually willing to visit....I do love Ecuador but the unavailability of some products, or the excessive cost, as well as a failed marriage has got me looking in other places... At this time I'm looking for a relatively safe and inexpensive place to live. I'm also a massage therapist with extensive training in several different modalities and would like to continue to work some to keep myself in it but not necessarily to make a living.
Ecuador Welcome Forum: One way entry into Ecuador:
You could get a bus ticket to Columbia or Peru to facilitate getting out of the country!
Ecuador: Cats:
Most airlines will not allow you to drug your animals for the flight! And the idiot that suggests stuffing should be stuffed themselves!
Ecuador: How to best to get to and where to stay in Montanita?:
The CLP ticket office has actually moved to the 3rd floor. After going up the escalator it's all the way forward and on your right.
