Ecuador: Ocean front PRIVATE condo exchange for a motor home in the USA:
Looking to visit the USA this time next year. We will exchange our very private, turnkey, ocean front condo with one of the best views and most private beaches in Ecuador for a travel trailer (sp?) anywhere in the USA. This place is beautiful, one bedroom, with an awesome view. Unlike most of coastal Ecuador, it is very quiet. We are looking to revisit the USA in April or May of next year. We want to travel and do not care what the home base house looks like or where it is. Email or message me with questions.
Peru: Looking for afordable furnished house/condo on or near the beach anywhere:
Not sure if this is the right place to post this. We are in Ecuador, have been for many years, and want to spend a few years in Peru. We are looking for a beach house in a quiet area, affordable, not full of tourists. While we search for this "dream home" we are looking for a cheap place on or near the coastal region to rent on a monthly basis. Hope you guys can help!
Ecuador: Blind American on disability, is Ecuador a good location?:
Ecuador is a challenge for anyone coming from another country. To learn the customs, unspoken rules, the area and people, is a challenge. You are obviously a person who has learned to live and thrive with a challenge. There are some small communities in several cities that would be very accessible to you. My concern for you would be your budget. For the first few months you will probably spend several hundred dollars a month hiring someone to introduce you and acclimate you to the area you choose to live. But, if you make a point of learning spanish before you get here and have a clear idea of the environment you are looking for it is not impossible. Infrastructure is certainly a problem for everyone but, like I said, there are nice, well maintained, communities that you should not have issues with. The malls are ADA accessible, and with an initial guide, you should pick up the where and how of getting around quite easily. It really is a matter of attitude. Life is not easier here, but, in my opinion, it is better.
Ecuador: Angry thumbs down person:
I have the same issue. Don't know who the person is, although I do have an idea or two. Don't really care. I just figure they are someone I slighted in the past and now their life is reduced to stalking people on the internet to give them a thumbs down. Sad, but whatever makes them happy!
Ecuador: Rotisserie:
They have some nice ones on overstock.com. Not sure what shipping and taxes will be. My bedding cost an additional $34.00 or so but that`s much lighter and smaller than a little oven. Takes about 10 days to arrive through them.

Ecuador: Quiet living in Ecuador?:
With regards to living in Cuenca, there are many small communities that are quite quiet. The best for me was San Juaquin. Very quiet, country living, safe and easy walk down the hill to public transportation. I am currently in the middle of the downtown district and it is suprisingly quiet. Salinas Malecon and highways are the loudest places. Just look closely at your neighborhood for discos, busy streets, parks and other such things. It is possible to live the quiet life and still be in a community with all the amenities. Good luck.
Ecuador: Salinas? La Libertad? someplace not very humid?:
For living, in my opinion, Salinas or the small communities between the Malecon and the mall are the best for coastal living with easy access to shopping, restaurants, etc... La Libertad does not offer much if you want beachfront living and is very commercial along the ocean. The weather is not particularly humid and gets nice breezes off the ocean during part of the year. You will probably want an a/c in your bedroom but you won`t need it all year long. There are some very nice communities north of Salinas if you want something a little more private and quiet.
Ecuador: LAST NIGHT THEY CAUGHT 3 OF THEM ON THE BUS TO MANTA:
Although I agree with the first half of your comment, the rest is just stupid. Tell me one place in Ecuador that poor, hungry people do not go to extremes to feed their family. Only on the coast? Get your azz out of the mall and take a good look around. It happens everywhere. And, as someone who has spent a lot of time in Europe, clothing styles tend to mimic environmental factors.
Ecuador: Ecuador is at risk.:
Ecuador has some very nice "organic" markets. But in all honesty, who knows what they put on their market crops? Who really regulates it now?
