Kuwait: Bed sizes:
The beds are the same size. Having said that I always bring my sheets from United States because we get a better threadcount here than they do there.
Kuwait: Getting Rey to move to Kuwit-Advice please:
Where to live depends on where you will work. I live in Salmiya for many reasons. It is central to most places, there is good shopping and a very wide variety of restaurants.
The coffee shops and shesha cafes are the places where people hang out. Also there are a lot of house parties if you know the right people. Any other questions I can answer let me know.
Kuwait: Strong American women wants to marry a man from Kuwait:
I am an American woman living in Kuwait. I have lived here two years. Let me first tell you, your children will be Kuwaiti and muslim, the religion and nationality is passed through the father not the mother. As a wife your husband has a great say in where you go and what you do. He is the head of the family over here. He can keep you from taking the children out of Kuwait. I love Kuwait and I teach children of American mothers and Kuwaiti fathers, it is like all things sometimes it works and it is wonderful other times it doesn't. Life and family are very different in the Middle East then at home. You are not only marrying your husband you are marrying the family. Again that can be good or bad. I suggest a visit over here to see what life and his family are like. If they are very open you will be fine, but that is the exception not the rule. Kuwait is a great place to live for me, but I am single so I have more freedom then any married woman.
Good Luck and I hope it all works out for you!
Kuwait: Where to live in Kuwait?:
I am an older American woman living in Kuwait. I live in Salmiya and I love it. I have a very western apartment and very large two bedrooms overlooking the gulf. It is on Amman St walking distance to the old souq and many restaurants. It is also at the end of 4th ring road with is a main throughfare to get pretty much anywhere in Kuwait. There are only two apartments on each floor so the building is quiet and I rarely hear the 4 year old boy next door. The rent is only 400kd and that includes all utilities except landline. Amman Street is busy and there is noise but I got use to it quickly and not close to a mosque so adhan will not wake you before dawn.
Good Luck! I hope this helps.
