Ecuador: Need feedback about Nora Minga:
Nora and patrick (who is a gringo himself) helped us get our censo and cedula. We had no problems, they did what they said they would do and i have met very few people who work as hard as Nora. Getting a visa in Ecuador is a trial and they change the requirements all the time. I feel there is good as well as bad but not all had a bad experience with the Mingas
Ecuador: Hiring ecuadorians:
We lived in ecuador for two years and moved back to the US recently. While there we found an ecuadorian who we liked was going to lose his job at vistazul. So 5 of us expats got together and hired him as a caretaker for our houses. We much too late found out ecuadorian laws were against employers. We have since let him go after he completed his contract with us. It is costing us a lot of money in bonuses, vacations, holidays, school bonuses, all of which we paid him for
along the way. Now he wants to sue us for extra severence pay. He only worked for us for one year. We are all retired and live on a tight budget but we just wanted to help this guy and his family out. Check carefully into Ecuadorian employment laws before hiring an Ecuadorian. I wish we had done so. Just an fyi
Ecuador: Television:
Does anyone know anything about the new law outlawing the black box tv
Ecuador: MAIL / Post (From USA to EC):
I have things sent to me thru dhl and it is expensive but no problems so far. However, I sent a letter from Ecuador (Bahia) to the U.S. It moved quickly thru Ecuador and into Miami and then sat in Miami for 18 days. It was only a one page letter! So much for the U.S. Mail
Ecuador: Censos No Longer Necessary for Permanent Residents:
Where on the Internet can that decree be found por favor
I never understood why you would need a censor if you had a cedula and visa on your passport. Seemed redundant
Thanks

Ecuador: Ideas on expediting residency visa for Seniors:

Try Nora at this email. She seems to be really helpful and knowledgable. She has a b&b just outside of Quito. Also I hear she has an office next to immigration and can actually walk your paperwork through the processes
Good luck as we are also trying to get our pensioner visa
Ecuador: Will you sell your house after 2012...:
Makes me proud not to live in the U.S. Anymore. What a scam Obama has pulled off. Chicago politics at their finest
