Tanzania: Living wage in East Africa:

Hello all, I'm currently searching for work in Tanzania and Kenya as a cook/pastry chef in lodges and tented camps. I've begun to recieve responses to my emails but everyone is asking me how much am I expecting to earn. In all truth, I have no idea how to respond. I want to proportionately step up in wages since I'll be undertaking more responsinbility than I ever have before, but I have no idea of what that would equal over there. Thus, I ask of you kind people if you could give me some ideas. Essentially, I live in canada right now, and am able to afford a 500sq foot appartment in the capital, plus bills, plus insurance, plus about $600 a month pocket money. How much would the same level of living be worth in Tanzania? How much can a skilled labouror expect to earn? thank you all for your responses.
