I make soap and need to find LYE (Sodium hydroxide or caustic soda) also coconut oil and other types of oils. Fragrance oils and essential oils as well.

YES - A LOT has changed EVERYWHERE in the last 25 years! We lived in Brazil from 1978-80 and have been in EC now for almost a year. There is NO comparison at all from Before internet, cell phones etc.... Just sayin' - Pam

We lived in Brazil so I USE TO speak Portuguese - still have some. We have family in Holland so I speak a little Dutch. A tiny bit of German and French. BUT I can say "Thank you" in 13 Languages LOL

We just rented a home that has some nasty orange carpet in 4 of the bedrooms!
We either need to try cleaning them OR replacing them??
Does anyone have a clue where we can find NEW wall-to-wall carpet? We need to price it and decide if we can afford to replace it ( or some of it) or just clean it and live with it?

Ok I have to jump in here.....
First... We lived in Brazil for 2 years... So " Latin living is not new to us.
2nd... We researched EC before visiting to make sure Cuenca was the best for us.
To stay on subject - I have found EVERYONE friendly!!! That is with a Capitol E!
I probably bug withoutego beyond belief ... I tend to talk to Everyone... I have interrupted his drawing/writing a few to many times LOL
EVERY PERSON I HAVE GREETED has been helpful, friendly etc..
We love Cuenca and plan on becoming citizens ( duel ).
Complain all you want but ask yourselves WHY aren't other gringos friendly???
