Some Forum Posts:

Ecuador: An unbiased report on Coco Beach Village & El Matal:

Hi Andy, That area of the coast is still very raw but as well published the new bridge and highway make it an attractive long-term investment... I still think its too raw and out in the middle of no where to really explode in the short term (within 1 year)... the interest now is in land banking in that area... hope that helps, D EcuadorRealEstate.org

Ecuador: I came, I bought, and I went...:

I have found all around the world , and Ecuador is no different, that many taxis drivers tend to be sneaky... In Quito, walk right past those pushy guys and cross the street where you can get taxis who use the meter...ask and point..."meter" ...they will say "si" or "no"...if they don't want to use the meter move on...but at night no one uses the meter so you have to just pick a taxi that is marked and try to pick an older gentlemen =)... hope that helps, domenick EcuadorRealEstate.org

Ecuador: Avoid Buses in Guayaquil:

The city buses are a little suspect but for me still OK...i have never been robbed using them in over a year...but the inter city buses are safe...for a full bus schedule and prices for all over Ecuador check out this post... http://ecuadorrealestate.org/ecuador-bus-schedule-costs/

Ecuador: Spanish by CD:

Id recommend just focusing on the basics before you go...then once you arrive really dig in...killing yourself over CDs is not the answer ...in my humble opinion... Saludos, Domenick EcuadorRealEstate.org

Ecuador: Visa application:

Just put the address of your hotel where you will stay the first few days of your stay! That should work. Saludos, Domenick EcuadorRealEstate.org

Ecuador: Reality Finally Setting in . . .:

one minute I think you're for Ecuador, the next against, which is it? Both Ecuador and the US have their negatives but I chose Ecuador for the weather, food, low taxes, and nice people... Domenick EcuadorRealEstate.org

Ecuador: Micro climates in Ecuador:

I think its interesting how Ecuador has so many places with their own, entirely unique climate... my favorite climate is vilcabamba...where it is absolutely perfect, eternal spring like weather... where is your favorite climate? I wrote about this in my blog, http://www.EcuadorRealEstate.org
