Bermuda: Living on Bermuda:

Hi Cindy, Thanx for the info. Found a site with a complete budget for family of two with only one person working and they came to $ 7.300 pr. month. That was with 2.500 pr. month to acommodation. Problem is I haven't been able to find acommodation for anything less than 3.500 online, so if the budget should be adjustet it is closer to 8.300 pr. month. Well - that is just about $100.000 pr. year - and that means that there is absolutely nothing left after paying basic living. Auch. Well - I'll see if I can get the salery pushed up to a more reasonable level :) Anyway - thanx for your response. Are you an expact yourself or a Bermudan (is that what it is called?). If you're an expat - can you tell me more how it is like?

Malaysia: looking for housing:

Hi Mads, I am Danish living in KL and I will be happy to point you in the right direction :) Basically there are two typical expat areas around KL - Bangsar (quite cozy but $$$$$expensive compared to the value) and Ampang (more central in relation to KL, further from the airport - slightly more reasonable than Bangsar compared to the value). Personally I stayed in Bangsar for two years and got fed up with the place. Tired of feeling I have to pay twice the price than everybody else just because I have a white face. Now I stay smack in the center of KL and I love it. Not exactly a typical expat area - although there are plenty of expats around. Anyway - there are tons of oportunities depending exactly what's your prefs. Be aware it can be a bleeding nightmare to make local real estate agents understand non-local requirements. They seem to think that you are from Europe - ergo you have tons of money (and are most happy to caugh them up) and thus only look at something expensive no matter what kind of place it is. I went through five real estate agents myself - and none of them could understand my simple message: I want this, this, this, this and this - and this is what I am prepared to pay - go find or you won't get the deal. Instead I was forced to walk through tons of fancy pools (which was NOT one of my requirements and which I know I will never use), tons of squash courts (which was not one of my requirements and which I know I will never use) etc. etc. etc. Anyway - feel free to send me an email if you need further info or have any questions. My email is lth@cow.dk
