Malaysia: Buying Property in Malaysia:

We are a group of people about to move to Malaysia and would like information on the property market in Sabah or east Coast areas. We are interested in having a property with solar energy (if possible) or an old style property with the high ceilings/courtyards. Do you have to pay property tax in Malaysiaa and/or Malaysian Borneo? We are not interested in living in Condos where a bunch of expats live, we wish to live more with the locals. Bermuda: Living on Bermuda:

Dear Lars, I noticed you are living in Malaysia and wondered if I could get some information from you. I am interested (with a couple of friends and their children) in moving to Malaysia, likely Sabah or Malacca, buying and running a diving business. We are also educated to Master's level and might do other work involving business or education during slow seasons. Since you have been living there I wondered what you could tell me about costs, housing, etc. Do you know anything about living in the areas I mentioned or do you know anyone who lives in those areas? Do you feel Malaysia is dangerous? Do they have restrictive gun laws like in Denmark? How long have you lived there and has it always been in KL? What is the medical care like and is it expensive? Is the food mostly organic? Do they use any alternative technology yet like solar power, etc.? I am a Swedish-American living in Britain and would appreciate any imput you can give me.
