Hungary: Most economical way to send money from Hungary to USA:

You can do it is through some form of foreign exchange company online. One that I have previously used, which was very smooth is http://transferwise.com. You simply have to make an account and verify your identity, then you make a request for how much you'd like to send, you initiate a transfer from your bank here to theirs, specify where you want the money sent and they'll transfer it directly into your account. Site-wise, you'll have a lot of options to choose from - I can only recommend Transfer Wise as I've used them, but depending on the amount you would like to transfer, you can probably find better and worse rates online, just make sure you do due diligance on whether the company is respectable!

Hungary: Driving license:

It doesent make any difference if u are foreigner ,or you have dual citizenship. How long Hungry didn't sign agriment with your country your driving licence can't be change to Hungarian one. If you have a EU licence is not a problem even you licence is 100 years old. And the same story is in any EU country not only Hungary. If you drive 1 year or 50 years also don't change the fact that you have to pass driving licence test...one is computer one....you can have in English but the translation is google one ,word by word so you just don't understand the question and in short time you can't work out what they asking for. The translation is a joke! My husband born in Hungry went True all of it .Always he missed 1-2 points...I think he went for the test 10 x ! Also you need to pass driving test. He did one lesson to just have a feel what they want and the test.... and after this he had to go for a two days first aid lessons and ihen has to pass the test. It's a night mare!! Get your international licence from your own country. Some country will send you here....like,Australia once a year you need to send the photo,with the application ...pay it and u drive here ,no worries .

Hungary: Hungarian pension:

Hi, I didn't think somebody coming from other country like Australia can apply for a Hungarian pension.... but maybe I'm wrong. Like to hear from the people who were able to achieve this.

Hungary: How to start:

I don't think they are too fussy about it. Just show them a paper with any insurence....they don't look if is only for a docs or hospitals... Have a look on Internet....often u can have the travel insurance which includes doctors,hospitals ...and everything else and is much cheaper then other one. I was using some but don't remember now how it's calls. Try to find for u so u can check up the prices.

Hi Michael, We are living 25 km from Budapest . By car 20 min. Beautiful place....clean,quiet,no crime at all. I don't speak Hungarian apart of some few worlds and I'm doing very well. This days most of the young people speak English better or worst so always you can communicate with them. Shops are no problem either. Probably the biggest problem are gov offices . There you need to go with somebody who can translate for you. But once is done you can survive very nicely.

Very well said borschelrh! Agree 100%.!' I was living myself in communistic country. So I knew exactly what are u talking about. Joining the EU was the biggest mistake ( read stupidity) of all eastern block countries. And was only one reason for it... make Germany ( manly) richer,stronger and more powerful....What they didn't achieve in WWI and WWII they achieve peacefully making EU with fake promises. And don't forget that Germany is a puppet....Doing dirty jobs for those who running whole world.... EU will die ...mater of time....so Hungary don't even need to leave it.... Still the future is very unknown......can't see even communistic time ever come back......and looking from the perspective this was a good time. Lots of people listening BS propaganda...... I'll happy to swap for those time.

Of you are EU passport holder you can buy a house or apartment the same way as Hungarians do. No permission is necessary . The contract can be in English. Only what you need is passport ,your mothers name and address where you live now. You can own property even in one month .

The logic in Hungary is not really common sense. I think the VAT on pork has nothing to do with the health or no health....Most of the Hungarians eat pork only...even with higher VAT was cheaper than other meat. Hungarians generally do not buy red meat....not sure if it's a tradition or going back to the time when was a mad cow disease ... In many European countries since then the red meat is not popular. So people who are buying red meat are me and you and other emigrants.....so why we can't pay more for it??? Somebody has to support Hungarian economy.
