Panama: Need help on move to Panama!:

I suggest you read the little book, THE GRINGO GUIDE TO PANAMA. by elizabeth Vance. It will help you understand all the frustrations of dealing with the locals. There is no MLS. Every real estate has and protects their own listsings. Don't buy anything. Do your own on the ground searches. Learn Spanish. Al

What is the current price of an exchange membership?

Panama: Want a Panama "pen pal":

I agree. We have lost our country to a disguised Communist dictator. I can't stay. Planning another exploratory trip the end of January for about 30 days. Looking for a small place, cheap, as I will be out and about during the day. Have an attorney and stock broker and want a place near the stock exchange. I have friends in Boquete, but I am a city guy - Chicago. Now live in Florida. Stay in touch. Look forward to meeting you when I get there. Al

There is a very good highway directly to Volcan without going back to David . In Boquete there is a good hotel just across the bridge. Sorry, don't remember the name.

Global Expat Forum: looking for job offer from any country and any industry i have more than 20 years of experience in software programming:

Corruption is a way of life for ALL politicians. And then you have to deal with internal politics in any company. You have to learn how to deal with it. just like all that complex software. All the rest you can find. Good luck. Al

Global Expat Forum: ExPat Mail - What to do?:

I have been using MagicJack for 2 years. It is excellent. If you are moving permanently you can get a MagicJack and transfer your home land line. It will ring in Panama as long as your computer is on or it will take a message if the computer is off. You can call anyone in the US, Canada at no charge. I did while I was in both PC and Boquete. I am not sure, but you might want to keep you US land line and set up call forwarding. I don't knowe how to do that. Check it.

Panama: Altos del Maria:

Panama: Panama move early 2013:

Volcan is up a very nice highway from Boquette. Not too far, but 2,000 feet higher. Not very much there, but I was only there for one day.
