Indonesia: Decent hotel in Jakarta for a exploration trip:

Depends where in Jakarta you need to be. Word of warning, the traffic is BAD, well beyond BAD & an example is that it can take an hour to drive 1 or 2km!! So choose a hotel near where you have to be!! I suggest you look on Asiarooms.com or Agoda.com for hotels. I have used both during our 3 year stay in Indonesia to book hotels around Indonesia & other parts of Asia & have never had any problems or cause for concern. I believe both sites work out of Singapore & are 100% professional. When in Jakarta, if you don't already have a relocation company, we used Colliers (then known as Koll) & they were absolutely magnificent. They gave me info I hadn't even thought of asking & drove me around the area I was interested in, showing me where EVERYTHING was, from supermarkets to schools, restaurants to sports facilities, nothing was left out!! Good luck & enjoy your stay...we love it here & will be sad to go.
