Japan: Moving:

Hello all, I am currently contemplating moving out of my home country of Canada. I am considering multiple places, one being Japan. I am curious as to a few things. 1.) How hard is it to obtain a working visa? 2.) I work as a cook proffesionally, are these jobs available without speaking japanese, in a expat pub / resto perhaps? Also what is the average wage (and is it deemed 'liveable')? Would it alternativly be better to teach English? 3.) How much is standard for a 1 bdrm apt in, Osaka (considering elsewhere as well, maybe tokyo)? How hard are these apartments to come by? 4.) I currently breed Royal (ball) Pythons, if I were to be travelling with them, (I have 4) are there any special permits needed to keep these animals?
