I would receommend (very highly) the CIWEC clinic for both medical and dental services. Across from British embassy.
Nepal: Looking for infant formula:
Try posting on the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree (Nepal branch), you'll get some answers (that forum is used MUCH more than Expat Exchange...)
Nepal: Thanksgiving Celebrations in Nepal:
The gig at Mike's Breakfast is pricy but EXCELLENT!!!!
Nepal: What is Your Favorite Beach?:
Ya mean with all of Nepal's great beaches, nobody could come up with any favorites??

Nepal: 1-2 Bedroom Flat needed (Thamel area):
Namaste!
I will be relocating to Kathmandu (from California) in mid-February, and plan to live in Nepal indefinitely. I have business ties in the Thamel area, and want to avoid buying a vehicle – so I’m looking for something close to Thamel (such that I can walk to work). Ideally, I’m hoping to find a 1-2 bedroom flat (with kitchen and bath), for something in the $150/month range. Unfurnished is fine, but furnished is ok too.
Please advise if you know of anything.
Thank you.

Nepal: Course Requirements for Student Visa:
I will be moving to Nepal in 2012, and plan to use a Tourist Visa for part of the year (5 months max), and a Student Visa for the rest of the year.
My question is this: Does anyone know what the course requirements are in order to qualify for the Student Visa?
E.g. are there certian schools, specific programs or degrees, minimum number of hours, etc.
If you had an internet reference (I couldn't find anything) that you could point me to, that would be uber awesome!!
Thanks!
Mike
Nepal: nearly a year in KTM:
Thanks for the info, really useful!!
I'm surprised that you managed to pull off a business visa, I've heard horror stories from so many folks that haven't been able to get one.
I plan to relocate to Nepal next year (like you, prob for 5-10 years). I had given up on the bus visa approach, so was (am) planning to do Tourist/Student combo (each year). This whold Nepal move would be soooooooo much easier if I didn't have to deal with the visa BS!!!
Do you by any chance have any good internet reference that clearly lays out the rules & rqmts for the various visa types? The dept of Immingration site sucks, very incomplete (and barely comprhensible in places)!!
Thanks!

Do you by any chance know where I can find out more info about the course requirements in order to qualify for a Student Visa?
For instance, are there certian schools, or certian number of hours, etc.
Thank you!

Nepal: Kathmandu in Oct Woo Hoo:
Hi Curtis!
I am actively considering moving to Nepal for an extended period (want to find work there), and was curious how you obtained a business visa without a Nepali sponsor company? The visa form seems to require this info (and I don't have a Nepali sponsor).
Appreciate your help!
Have fun in KTM -- I'm jealous!!!!!
