Lithuania: We finally arrived:
Just moved my family from Minnesota to Vilnius. Wife is from here, and we are looking forward to the European experience. Compared to Minneapolis, gasoline is twice the price, food about the same, while housing is much less costly. Cigarettes are 40% less, with "drinK' about 30% more (but European quality). Not yet seen electric or nat'l gas bills.
Lithuania: Health Care in Lithuania:
Inexpensive, with numerous younger Doctors having studied abroad. Although I have not seen him for years, Dr Cervin probably still operates his private clinic at Gedimino Avenue/ Street at the center of old town. An Austrailian, he speaks English, Lithuanian, and Russian. Many employees of various embassies use him. Avoid Doctors having no western education, typically those from Soviet times. During the Communist period, it was actually easier to get into Med school than it was to enter Music school.
