hello .i'm native algerian man i can advice you if you come here to algeria many advice ..because we never meet alot foreigner people we may be very suprised to see people speak english at the street so my first advice is: never wear curicifix if you had one hide it ..wear long dress because people here still had traditional life in same place they still treat woman like thing so scarf is good too try to learn french it's also help few words it's good few arabic word woman never walk alone in night unless she go with someone or she is ill people here talk arabic, french so it's useless to try speak english maybe you met 1/1000 speak good english algeria is safe now ..but still few area are unsafe so ask about those are and never go there may thinking you are in unsafe area make you sick ..people are friendly neighbor and relative but it's like you live in La so never stair only glance to unknown people and they never hurt they only speak rude ..and they act rude with woman don't wear hijab scarf or look like bad woman !! we respect so much elder people also don't put a extra make up in same place you find those rude people talk to you we had english school in area like Cheraga ,Draria, i think and if you like they stay speak english ..because there is many school for french speaker ..i hope those few advice help you and welcome to my town
