Costa Rica: Avellanas:

My beautiful lot is for sale.I have realized I will not have the money to build and after 7 yrs of letting it sit I have decided to let it go. It is about a block behind Lolas on a private road.Has year round wonderful neighbors, which is excellent, as Avellanas is still undeveloped. The peace and beauty of the area is typical of Costa Rica. I am very sad to let it go....but have to face reality! If interested It is listed with Brenda Brubeck- Hidden Coast Reality. May you enjoy my dream!!!!

Costa Rica: HOW FAR DOES $3500/MO GO?:

I just returned from a month in Tamarindo. As a tourist town the prices there are high. This shockes most because they are in a 2nd world civilization. But greed is greed. Taking that into consideration you can live easily on 1500.00 a month. But I am a book reader and not a heavy drinker so I am not out every night! As a person who has lived in many countries I have discovered you can live easily on whatever income you have! We put too much into it all.Go to CR.find a place you love and live. You do not need a car.Walk,cycle,taxi.Enjoy your retirement.I live on 1/2 as much and have a fantastic life here in expensive orange county calif. Go,do it and enjoy what you deserve.

Costa Rica: cash or not?:

Im heading to CR in March.Should I get currency exchanged before i go? Or is it easy to do it once I have landed?

Costa Rica: Is anyone happy with living in CR?:

I have property in Avellanas. Next year I plan to move there and build myself, and I do mean BUILD IT MYSELF....a Cob Home. They are environmentally healthy, cost effective(you do the building),take little maintenance, last forever and outside Jaco there is a institute to help you....I am so excited that after 7 yrs.Im ready. I find what we do all too often in think "within" the box.Why bring US to CR.Your leaving for a reason. How much fun/challenge to DIY your home! Enjoy the Process,we WORRY all too much.Be the change you want to see in the world.

Costa Rica: Cob Building:

Hello, I have a lot in Avellanas.Im ready to build and have decided Cob/Straw bale would best for the environment and my pocket book. Do you know of anyone in Guanacasta who has done this? Or knows of what it is like living in one? etc....what permits if any I might need... I have found a Eco Institute near Jaco...am in contact with them. Happy New Year!

Costa Rica: Anywhere to buy beachfront property 'cheap':

Contact Hidden Coast Reality. They have wonderful properties and GREAT prices..Brenda is very good and has lived in Tamarindo for years.I have a place there in Avellanas....

Saudi Arabia: Freedom of movement for single women:

Hi, I was hired for a tutoring job in Riyaidh. It was suppose to be 1-4 years. The man(family)was friendly and had very spacific ideas. He wants his son READ too. Will pay a lot but DOES NOT FOLLOW THROUGH.2 tutors have been let go and he keeps raising the salary. Why am i telling you this.WARNING TO YOU AND ANYONE ELSE INTERESTED. in sa THE MEN rule the roost.you Jump when they say JUMP!!! you can drive in taxis, with Abaya on.that isn't a problem. But you WILL NOT see women walking the streets. The homes are like PRISONS.and there is nothing to do.Women go to the malls for entertainment.I would not be tempted again by the $
