Netherlands: St Marteen:
Hi,
Sorry for posting this under "Netherlands", but this website doesn't have a specific place for St Marteen or the Caribbean in general.
I am looking to live in the Caribbean, St. Marteen is one option. I found info about getting legal residency there, but I am try get real-life opinions of people living there and also how realisticly a foreigner can open and run a business there.
Thanks.
Belize: How it is like living in Belize?:
Hello,
I am "shopping" for a new country to live and Belize is on top of my list. I'd like to know more about how it is like to live in Belize, including:
1. Crime/violence
2. Prejudice against foreigners.
3. cost of living (e.g. groceries)
4. If there are importation taxes (tariffs) in Belize (e.g. if I buy books and CDs at Amazon.com, will they be taxed?)
Any other information would be highly appreciated.
THANKS.
Bahamas: Cayman, anyone?:
Hi, I also want to do some research on the Cayman Islands. However, this website doesn't have a section for Cayman (??????).
Suggestions?
Bahamas: Info on the Bahamas:
I'd like to move to the Bahamas, and would like info about the cost of living (groceries, for example), if I need a car, and the cost of car/gasoline compared to the US. I read that the Bahamas have importation duties (tariffs), which makes everything very expensive there.
And, of course, how I could legally be a permanent resident. I read that all you need to do is buy real estate of at least USD 500,000 and apply for a permanent residency, but I need to double check this and talk to someone that went thru the process.
Thanks.
