Jamaica: Care Taker Wanted:

I owe 10 acres of land with a cabin and pit toilet with coconut trees, mango, cinnamon, jackfruit, breadfruit, citrus, red apple, spring water, cool pools, and water falls etc in the parish of Portland and have not been able to return for quite a few years now. I would be interested in someone who is willing to first go take a look at the property and then email me as to whether any one is squatting on the property . This is a very pristine area adjacent to The Blue & John Crow National Park, so lots of bird species, mongoose, wild pig. I prefer someone or maybe even a couple who is currently living in JA and is looking for a quiet and peaceful place where they can live inexpensively. I am not asking for any money, just someone I can trust who can report back to me from time to time. No doubt the cabin needs some work, I a sure that the veranda needs replacing now, but the inside should be ok; when I left there there two bed frames so all you would need is some cushioning and bedding, some cookware. If interested I can put you in touch w/ someone who maybe still has the key to the front door, however I do not know if anyone has broken into the cabin or not, its been several years now since I was there. What a beautiful place though; wake up and roast a breadfruit for breakfast and take a shower in the water fall nearby, I miss it so much!! I hope to be able to return perhaps within a few months or so. You can contact me here or at alegrias@fastmail.fm Thankyou; Jeff in Oregon USA.

Jamaica: My experience in Jamaica:

From Alaska I was wring a pen pal and was invited to Port Antonio, where I met a man who took me to the Rio Grande Valley where I I bought 10.5 acres in Portland, adjacent from the Blue and John Crow Mtn National Park in 1989 where I built a cabin, bamboo kitchen, etc and there are 2 beautiful springs w/ water falls and cool pools. Since then I have been there 6 times and have planted many many coconut and fruit trees, like chocolate, jack fruit, mango, breadfruit, citrus, star apple, cinnamon, red apple, etc. and plan to return soon to begin the construction of my lodge and guest house. Jamaica nice but a hard nut to crack, but it so beautiful and fascinating in so many ways, especially in knowing its people, flora and fauna. And living in the country and growing your own veggies, and fruits is a great plus and w/o rent you can easily supplement your diet with the other things that you need. Its so wonderful to wake up and roast a breadfruit for breakfast and take a shower in the waterfall. Anyway, you may want to visit Jamaska Aisha some day, where its very private and peaceful and one thing for sure, one time in the big pool or the water fall, ya nah wana lefi mon, you won't want to leave. All the best to your dreams; Likkle more; Jeff Weston alegrias@fastmail.fm
