Do not be scared. India is a wealth of information- get involved with all the new you are about to learn- don't get caught up with family life- respect it. Things will be different- embrace the differences and learn from them. Your in laws will have to do the same. Don't loose your identity, be happy.

I have visited Kerala several times, but not Pondicherry, which reads like an interesting part of India. It is my intention to travel to about 5 locations before I decide where i would like to set up home.

Is it correct that a US citizen can only spend 6 months at a time in India. I would like to retire there.
