Uganda: GYm / Recreation:
Hey everyone! Now in Kampala since 2 days, and enjoying every minute of it!!! i have to say it is so chaotic and crazy over here, but i guess that's just the beauty of Africa that you won't find anywhere else.
MY question now, I have been out and about, saw the clubs and the casinos, and now looking for a gym or health club. I live around Kira road area -any suggestions will help very much.
Uganda: Questions about Kampala Uganda:
Hello Everyone. I am now 2 weeks away from moving to Uganda for a new job, and really getting excited and ready for whatever surprises Africa is about to bring me. If anyone can give out some info on a few things please, will be muchly appreciated...
1. What is the current weather situation at this time? I heard April is the wet season, but until what month usually...
2. Yellow fever certificate at the airport - is this really mandatory? What about getting malaria - do i really need to take prophylaxis, or can I do without?
3. Telephone Networks / Wi-fi - is this something easily available around the Kampala region? If anyone can please recommend the better service providers... My phone is a blackberry curve 8530 - would it work there?
4. Dress Code - what is the fashion style like in Kampala? Easy casual all the time? (even at work?)
5. Are international brands conveniently available (like Neutrogena products, estee lauder...) want to make sure I have enough supply until my vacation which is only after a year... my skin tends to be sensitive with other brands, can't do wth any other...
6. Mosquito / Insect Issues?
Thanks in advance to whatever info you can share!!!!
Uganda: Moving to Kampala Uganda:
I am a Filipina living in the US and now considering a job offer in Kampala Uganda. I have traveled and lived in a lot of other countries but just not africa, so I am quite unsure how I will be able to handle the big adjustment in case I decide to move.
If anyone could let me know how the cost of living is really like over there, and what the living condition is - I know the media tend to be exaggerated a lot of times so I don't really want to rely on it.
Are there a lot of other expats working or living in Kampala etc.
Any information will really help me in making this important decision in my life.
Thanks in advance!
Qatar: Cost of living in Qatar?:
Cost of living is high. For expats like you, you would prefer to live in areas such as the West Bay or The Pearl. 1-Bedroom apartment (semi-furnished) that area should cost around QR 10000 / per month.
If you need help with your accommodation, please let me know.
