Oman: 24 and Moving from UK to Oman:

I am a 24 years old and am moving to Oman, Muscat in August to become a primary teacher. I am so excited i think i might die!!! I will be living with a friend who has been there for a couple of years-obviously this is going to make things a lot easier for me, she will be able to introduse me to people, show me the ropes etc. So now I am just looking for any advice that anybody has to offer me? About anything really!! what do i bring? how hard is it to adjust?
