Bahamas: Buying a Home -- Nassau:

Is there a minimum needed to make an investment in a home there? We're Americans, and want to buy a house there right away when we arrive .... What is the mortgage process like there, with qualifying etc? Similar to the states? Any and all help is thankfully accepted!

Bahamas: Moving to Nassau -- What to Bring?:

Any help appreciated! I basically need to know at this point what we should bring with us, and what we should just get rid of sell,... etc. What kinds of things will be hard to find or too expensive to replace when we get there? We're moving from the Northwest US, so shipping costs would be crazy I'm thinking, plus the taxes they charge (as I read in another post). I was thinking of packaging up some personal things to be shipped later though, as my little one wants more of her toys, video tapes, etc .... We'll likely be making the move in a couple of months once the house is sold -- so I need to start tackling this whole project! VERY EXCITED though!
