Nicaragua: rental or homestay in Managua:

I am a student from Canada traveling to Managua this summer for 6 weeks to do research on an organization supporting integrated employment for persons with disabilities. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on finding a place to stay in Managua for that time. The organization is in Bolonia... is that a safe neighborhood to live in? What are other good neighborhoods? Is there a way to arrange a rental or homestay before I arrive? Or will I need to plan on doing this when I arrive? Thanks for any feedback!
