Panama: House rentals:

I am in Panama City and need a 1 bedroom or two asap. Good taste please. The place I am in is a hell hole. I make 10x more then the ppl in my building and I feel that I over shadow them. The manager of the building lives better then me. Hows this possible? Jeesh! If I dont find a nice home in the next 2 weeks or so I am out of here. Only been here 24 hrs. If anyone sees this please hit me up with solid leads and info ASAP. $850 for this dump? Nah! Cant be so!

Panama: Panama?:

Yup! It's official I'v chosen Panama as my 1st freelance home search ground. Tickets, passport, income proof, bank statement/Ref, Police report, Panamanian Counsel Stamp, Portable recording studio, Summer cloths and shoes, eye shades. Damn! Do I need anything else folks? Jeesh! Hope someone treats me to a beer once I get down there because this process is nerve wrecking and costly. By the way does anyone have a nice apt for rent while I get things in order? No Dives please I have taste.

Panama: 17 days until Panama. Help!:

Need a 1 bedroom apt. in Anton area or anywhere where a young single male pensioned vet get a chance to feel the country out. I am familiar with Panama Jacked up American prices to rookies so please lets not go there. I lived in Panama 10 yrs ago for 3 years and I loved it. I would like a nice rest spot with taste and not depressing looking. A nice modest share of social night life and good ratio of ladies would be nice as well. I have all my paperwork and Passport authenticated by the Panamanian Counsel in PA for Pensionado Visa. Need home from Aug. 2nd until Nov. 20th. $800 max for rent C.O.D if you real about having a good tenant or neighbor. Clean professional military back bone guy just wanting to build a nest egg.

Panama: renting an apartment:

@802mark, its official I am going to Panama July 28 but there is a problem. I need a safe furnished 1 bedroom apartment for 60-90 days until pensionado visa and paperwork clears. A gentleman I met online stated that I will be paying around $800-$1000 a month plus bills for Panama City. I will not be having a car during my brief 60-90 day stay and would like to be able to home shop while not pinching my pockets. Since I will be looking in the Anton area and San Francisco area mostly I need to be at a center point of location. Can you help me please? I feel this guy might be pulling a fast one on me for major personal gain.

Okay Expat's! It's official! I made up my mind to travel to not only Panama but maybe also Costa Rica. My dream goal would consist by departing USA July 28 to Panama City for the weekend. Then departing to view Anton area for one week followed by Boquete area for one week or two depending on home values and surroundings. An additional one to two weeks viewing Brisa de Golf area for homes. Need a "good" guide/agent. Possible Costa Rica if I can find a better deal for Expat Vet's.

If I would decide to move to Panama as a Pensionado/Retiree Expat would I have to pay taxes on my first car and furniture shipment? Where would you recommend for someone to stay at while property searching within the 2hr max. radius around Panama City? How do I find a reputable home agent in Panama that's not trying to break my arm on over-priced homes? Panama vs. Costa Rica? HELP PLZ!

I would like to relocate to Panama this year and I am in need of honest opinions and referrals. Single with no kids and verifiable income from VA and Social Security.
