Algeria: marriage documents:

What's a CNI. Your fiance needs to check at the Wilaya where he is from. He is very complicated and nothing is consistent here. You will need a new copy of your birth certificate. They do a background check which takes time so hopefully your visa won't expire before you get it back. Good luck. You're going to need it!

Algeria: Learning Algerian Arabic:

You just have to live here for a long time to learn the language here. It is called Djurja and is a combination of French and Arabic and some of their own words. There are no books, classes or information to learn it on the internet. You might consider learning French. Most people speak it moderately and will think you do too if you are a foreigner.

Algeria: mail forwarding service:

That is almost the same as priority mail from the USA. It takes about 2 weeks as long as it is not stolen once it gets into Algeria. Also they will not insure anything coming into Algeria. They tell you it takes a shorter time but they are wrong and if it is anytime close to Ramadan or Eid expect longer waits.

Algeria: cheap airfare:

There aren't any packages I know of. It is very expensive and round trip is going for between 1,200 and 1,600 dollars. Of course one way may be cheaper but that is a risk. You may not get your documents before your visa expires and then you would have to buy another one way which would be more expensive in the long run. A good travel agent can help you. Also be sure and look for those long 12 to 15 hour layovers. Then you almost need a hotel which will cost you even more.

Algeria: U.S. citizen to marry Algerian man:

It will take a while depending on when you come. If it is during Ramadan or August (vacation month) alot of people don't work and things move slow. Many people have to return back to the states because their visa's expire in the time they are waiting. It isn't easy and you have to be prepared for frustration and aggravation and a lot of wrong information. Nothing is consistent here so you must check with the Wilaya where your man is from. Good luck.

Algeria: Marriage and Moving to Algeria:

I think things may be different for those in the military and police. They have more restrictioins. I agree you should check with the Alerian embassy, see what they say about a police marrying a foreigner.

Algeria: I'm English and want to study in Bab Ezzouar University - Algeria:

I would recommend you make sure that schools outside of Algeria will accept your credits if you study at university here. I honestly don't know why you would even consider getting a diploma here in Algiera when you can get one from England. It would be accepted anywhere and considered much more valuable to have gone there.

Algeria: Money Transfer:

I think Western Union will let you receive money but I don't know the limits. You cannot send money out of Algeria with WU though. It is very hard to do that anywhere actually.

Algeria: Good Restaurants in Algeria:

People really don't eat out much in Algeria and especially during Ramadan. If you are comparing good restaurants to europe or american there aren't any here in Algeria. There are a few I find reasonable and decent in Algiers. There is the Woodpecker and Hollywood to say a few. They are clean and professional with good service....not what I am used to from home but as I say a decent alternative.

Algeria: US native woman to live in Algeria after marriage:

I have done this and if you contact me by email I may can give you my experiences. Good luck.
