Norway: Working in UK, Living in Norway:

Hopefully you will pay taxes to the country where you live. That's where you take advantage of all the amenities, etc. Fair?

Norway: job in trondheim - advice:

Nursery teachers are paid in NOK, not GBP. Salaries vary in different parts of Norway and if private or government, but a nominal starting pay was about 350.000 in 2012. Local government may be higher, and mean pay was 422.400 according to SSB 2012. Taxes vary according to single or married situation, children, deductions, etc., but most people don't complain about taxes.

Norway: Family Immigration. American married to Norwegian:

Hi Bill - born and bred in Norway, And others who don't like some of the rules of law in Norway, Every country in the world - even the criminal countries - have rules regarding immigration and emigration. Of course. Some very strict. Some not so strict, but where? Certainly not US, UK and the rest of EU. Norway will of course protect itself from being "invaded" by too many people, too many slackers and too many who just fancy this country to be a nice place to live. Anyone is welcome as a tourist, and most tourists are given a generous three months visum - and are expected to leave after visiting. Those who, for some reason, want to come and live in Norway must follow the rules and be patient. No use in whining, and if you are good, must expect to give something back in the form of work and taxes, learning the language and take part in society. Slackers are not welcomed here as anywhere. Your description of the rules regarding yourself and your wife from US are clear and easy to understand (and follow). Very generous, also.

Norway: Moving to Norway:

Being married with one child is hardly enough qualifications for moving to Norway. So what are your qualifications? And remember: In Norway, most women work. Married or unmarried. With or without children. Men too. So it is not only about you. Is your question really serious?

Norway: Do I have a chance to find a job in Norway?:

Be aware that there are not so many vacant jobs in Norway any more. Rate of unemployment is very low and will continue to be so for quite some time. Many foreigners who have come to Norway seeking jobs, are now returning to their home countries empty-handed and maybe a little cold. Some specialist jobs are vacant, but if you only have an ordinary BSc or MS and little practice, then don't waste time and money on such a project. And then there is a language issue.

Are you married to your Norwegian man? If so, you just come to Norway and settle. Immediately go to the police and register and get a visa to stay and to work. You will have free Norwegian lessons in class at local school together with other immigrants. If you are not married, then maybe a different matter.

Norway: Leasing a car in bergen:

You go to a car dealer and tell your story. They will know what to do. Easy.

Norway: wishing to work in norway:

To mdlv, As a nurse in Norway, it is imperative that you speak, write and understand Norwegian. So that's your first. If teaching language in Finland is Finnish-Swedish (like a dialect of Swedish), then you are lucky, as Swedish and Norwegian are very (!) similar. If teaching language is Finnish, then a totally different language; it could just as well be Japanese. And then: Where are you from; what is your mother tongue? Also, when you write in English, you should make an effort to write correctly (wherever you live). Your diplomas and documentation of higher education must be sent to the government agency NOKUT in Oslo for verification and approval.
