Bahamas: Moving back to Europe, Any shipping companies?:

Hi, We've moved to Netherlands from Nassau but our 35 boxes of stuff still in there. The cheaper quote we got is $ 6000 something. But we moved the same things from the UK to The Bahamas for 1800 GBP. Does anybody now a shipping company with reasonable prices?

Bahamas: EU approved laboratory?:

Hi there, Does anyone now an EU approved laboratory for getting our cat's blood tested? Or a vet. who knows pet import/export procedures etc.?

Bahamas: Moving to Nassau:

I've moved to Nassau about 2 months ago and I'm dying to go back to UK now. I'm an interior design student (open learning), I thought it could be ok to continue in here since it's open learning but I can't find any kind of samples for my course that I'd order in UK and they'd deliver in 2 days. This place is good for a holiday but I wouldn't recommend for living. I'm used to spend hours in homeware stores and there is almost nothing in here, there is one shop called kelly's I went once and there was nothing interesting or even pleasant to look at. So you can say no shopping. I came accross with a pilates class, apparently they have 2 or 3 branches all over the island. People is here is extremely lazy and you can't depend on anyone. For example we called a cab and it didn't even come to pick us up. Eventually we had to rent a car, they're also so expensive, if you make them wait to go to a shop or something they take $1 for a min. When you order water they deliver it in 3 days, and when you order pizza it takes 2 hours for them to deliver. If you need somewhere to be fixed or anything you may wait months to get it done, they say they will be there in 3 days but they come a month later :) Don't make the same mistake we did and definitely come to see it first. Of course the scenery is beautiful and especially cable beach and the cabbage beach is to die for but it's not worth to live such a stressful life just to be close to that. And it's also too hot. If you're at home or in the car you can't live without an A/C, you pay $750 electricity per month. I really don't like being this negative but I wish I had someone to say these things to me. And there is also electricity and water shortage, water isn't that bad but our power goes off about 3-4 times a week and it doesn't come back on for couple of hours. Internet is not very fast too. I could go on but you get the idea :)

United Kingdom: I Wish I had Known... Before Moving to United Kingdom:

You have to pay council tax each month or annually. Price is changes according to areas. So keep that in mind when you're arranging your budget for a place to rent. You may pay something like 150 pounds (monthly). If you're getting a cup of tea to go they sometimes put milk in it, without asking you and because of the lid on the cup you can't see it until it's too late :) So if you are a black tea drinker you have to say black tea, instead of just tea.

Bahamas: I Wish I had Known... Before Moving to Bahamas:

I'm moving to Bahamas in 2 days and I've just found out about that post doesn't come to homes. You need to get a P.O Box and collect your mail from Post Office. I applied for a post redirection service from where I live now, without knowing this. But it will not work :( I have to do it all over again.
