Nepal: Living & Working in Nepal:
That's not enough information for us to start looking for something. Please be more specific. Nationality? Work experience? How many years? Expected salary (what do you mean with lesser?) Foreigners in Nepal need much more money than Nepalese. Rent is higher, food more costly etc.
Which place of work would you like. Kathmandu or Pokhara or anywhere in Nepal?
Next: if you cannot find a job in your profession. What else could you do alternatively? Any hobbies? A job in your own?
Nepal: moving to nepal:
Hi,
can you be more specific? What is your Nationality. If you are a Citizen of India its easy because Indians do not need a visa in Nepal. If you are from the Dominican Republic:
I am afraid you are in need of a residence visa, a business visa or a study visa. Each procedure is different. What is your aim here? Retirement or Business?
I can only provide more information on if you give more details here.
Regards
Jit Magar from Pokhara
Nepal: Looking to rent a 3 or 4 bedroom house in Pokhara:
Hi Ruth, Namaste!
If you go for for an apartment outside Lakeside or the center and more into the open areas of Pokhara like us...we live in Pokhara Chauthe, which is wonderful between the rice fields then I may be able to find something for you. Not sure that you find something with furniture in Pokhara. I know that such apartments are more than double the price in rent. For so much money you can buy your own furn step by step easy within a month or two. Think about an empty apartment with attached kitchen and bath rom etc. for about 10,000 to 15,000 RS per month and about 30,000 to 35,000 with furniture. If I have to look out for you, let me know and I will see what I can find for you. How long would you desire to rent a place? landlords will ask this beforehand.
Kind regards
Jit Magar
Nepal: Flatshare/room rental:
Hi Anna,Namaste!
would you like to go for home stay in a Nepalese elderly family?
Nepal: volunteering to Nepal in 2012:
Sir,Namaste!
I am living and working in Pokhara. I may be able to help you with finding an apartment. I know a number of reliable Nepalese people who rent out apartments at Lake Side.
Just let me know your required time and I will inquire formally with no strings attached.
Furthermore it may be helpful if you reveal what kind of volunteer works you would like to do.
kind regards

Nepal: Course Requirements for Student Visa:
You have to get in contact with Tribuvan University beforehand. They have Guest student courses in Nepalese Language, Nepalese Culture and Nepalese Art. To get into the Art section is the easiest because the others are always full and there is a waiting list. Once you have filled the enrollment form and paid your admission fees and deposit for lessons, they give to you a Visa recommendation to Immigration. The (Newari) Art study place is probably the Sub Urban city University wing of Kirtipur in the south western outskirt of Kathmandu valley.
Nepal: nearly a year in KTM:
I am quite shocked about what is going on in Kathmandu lately and it is a shame for our country.
I only can advice to future expats and those who are still in Kathmandu to shift to an other place. For me Pokhara is just fine and the expats who live and work here have good connections with our Nepalese people around us. Sure in Pokhara there is also unrest sometimes amongst the various political wings of College and University students , but that is child's play against what happens in our so called Capital City. An other reason to shift and move out of there is that Kathmandu is a virtual death trap in case of an earthquake or other large calamity.
My foreign friends over here have many good Nepalese friends and the people of Pokhara are not that kind that one encounters in Kathmandu. Pokhara is a city of middle class and they are mainly tourism entrepreneurs and local farmers. Honesty and fairness keeps them together. Once the Pokhara International Airport is established and the State-Boundaries and State Laws are in place after the new constitution, Tourists, Visitors and trekkers alike will think twice landing in Kathmandu to start their holidays here. Kathmandu and its spoiled centralist thinking elites will have a hard stand against such competition. Besides that, my city Pokhara has breathing space and a close up wonderful mountain view. Kathmandu has lost its view due to pollution and miss-management. I fear that the city is not feasible for proper maintenance anymore.
