Some Forum Posts:

Ecuador: Absentee Voting: message from the US Consulate General:

If the postal service works the way it has been portrayed here, then I think I'd have to bypass the Consulates directions on mailing it in.

Ecuador: News from the North:

An update to Coloradobill's message: according to CNN the youngest person shot was a 3 month old baby!

Ecuador: Log out!!!:

Help! I can't sign out of this site. Top left hand column offers me two choices: "sign in" or "sign up"..

Ecuador: Pet Friendly Hotels in Quito:

I second the recommendation of www.quitohotelbonanza.com. Patrick and Nora are wonderful!

Ecuador: Short term rentals in Cuenca:

Amen to that! I'm always amazed at how industrious the people here are. Lazy, not from where I'm standing. The USA could take a few tips from the Ecuadorians when it comes to work ethics.

Ecuador: Crime in Cuenca Ecuador:

I agree with aqua2010. I don't think Cuenca is any worse or any better than most cities it's size or larger. Always be aware of your surroundings, even in a Wal-Mart parking lot, don't act frightened and you will be less of a target. Good luck!

Ecuador: My headache is getting worse by the minute:

I hate hearing your distress. I suggest that you do as I did and check out blogs of those living there. This blog is operated by Mary & Steve Beckman, that aren't living in EC yet but their blog has links to numerous blogs written by expats with all kinds of wonderful info on the city, their daily lives and pictures galore. Good luck! www. SouthofZero.Wordpress.com

Ecuador: Currency Diversification:

Why don't you just invest in gold? That makes more sense than currencies to me.

Ecuador: Thinking about moving to ecuador:

The wonderful thing about Cuenca, and probably much of the Sierra, is that it gets cool in the evenings and nights but is warm in the afternoon. Plus, no flys mosquitos or gnats! It's paradise for us.

Ecuador: More visa questions:

Silverwater I always know I can depend on you for correct answers on all visa questions. Thanks so much!!
