You just need to register at GBA, which I am sure your boyfriend knows what it is. Once that is done, you can even have a (part time) job. With English you can get around in the Netherlands. But to integrate you better learn Dutch. Perhaps do an exchange between your university with a Dutch University. The study points can be exchanged as well. Good luck,
