Ireland: Where to live that's family orientated:
Cork City has a small airport and there's an airport in Farranfore that has flights to Dublin.
Long story short?
Kenmare!
There's so much going on for kids year round. It's a beautiful area, and very international.
We've made some great friends since we arrived 15mths ago.
PM me with any ????
Take care,
Mary
Ireland: Calculate shipping cost to Ireland:
I wish we hadn't got a container. It was a nightmare and cost about $5000 when all was said and done. We had to bring certain furniture with us, but got rid of as much as we could. If you can avoid it, don't do it.
Ireland: Boating/fishing along the south shore:
My husband is a commercial fisherman here. I can ask him about sport fishing when he gets home. I've been out with him around Valentia on a small, a giant row boat with a motor, boat and the waves can be intense. He thinks it's nothing.
Ireland: Questions on rentals:
Most rentals come furnished.
Stoves can use wood or peat. But can also be electric.
Houses can use oil or electric for heat. Electric is much more expensive.
Flat and apt are the same thing. Like French fries and chips. ;)
What kind of residence and where are you looking?
Good luck.
Ireland: Moving a cat from the US:
Pet Express is the only way to go. They take care of everything!! Trust me. We have our dog with us, when all when said and done, it cost about 2100+ I looked at every other pet travel service and Pet Express was the cheapest.
We worked with Susan.
The whole process is a pia, but it's the safest way to go.
If you have any ????, PM me.
Good Luck!
Ireland: RN Registration:
Anyone else deal with this painful process?? I have tried calling NMBI numerous time with no luck.
I have emailed the few questions I have.
Considering the nursing shortage, you'd think they'd be a bit more organized.
One of my questions is, for a reference to come from previous employment in the states, you usually go through HR, the form wants the director of nurses. This is not logical.
Any thoughts, advice?? I have people interested in hiring me as an RN, I want this done and dusted so I can get our with it!!
Thanks in advance!
Ireland: Thanksgiving Cork 2015?:
Sounds like the beginning of a party to me!

See you soon??

Ireland: Moving to Kerry 2012:
My husband has been pricing bins. There are a lot of companies out of NYC. We are in MA and from what he's told me the bin will probably go out from there. He got all sorts of quotes from $2500-$6000!!!
If you have any ??? I can get more info. We haven't made a commitment because we aren't planning to move until Spring. Good Luck!
Ireland: MOVING TO IRELAND 2012:
Hi Katy!!
We are planning to move to Ireland May/June 2012. Not sure where yet, depends on MH's job. He has been pricing containers and has gotten quotes anywhere from $2800 to $6000. We are on the East Coast near Boston. Don't know if it helps, but he also spoke to people in New York. If you need any more help, email me and I can give you some info I have at home. My husband has looked at (home) rental prices and many places come furnished. Maybe you could look into that esp when it comes to applicances. Good Luck!! Maybe we will be neighbors!!
