Taiwan: registering of new born babies (unmarried couples):

I have a huge proplem with how un married parents are treated in taiwan. In my case i am not married, i have been living with a taiwanese girl for 4 years, and we have a new born baby, but i cant register her under my name because we are not married. what type of law is that? its totally absord to think that i have to adopt my own child if i want to have her have my name.. Can anyone shed some light on this issue for me
