First, your desire to move to Brasil is commendable - great place. Go online to The Rio Times.com, they have an article in this weeks issue regarding cost of living in Rio. Last time I checked , permanent residency required approximately a $3500/mo , give or take,permanent net income. Learning to speak Portuguese is going to be a must, unless you plan on living in an expat enclave. I'm sure you receive more info following your post. Good luck!
