El Salvador: Racist country:
From my travel experiences, El Salvador is no more racist than any other country in Central America. I am a black man who also traveled around the world. During my travels I managed to meet wonderful people from all racial and social backgrounds. I have experienced subtle and not so subtle forms of discrimination in the US and abroad.
I visited El Salvador three times between 2010 and 2014 and I felt there were great experiences. The interaction with the locals, street vendor, pupuseria, upscale restaurant was positive as I felt like I was being treated with respect and courtesy.
I remember everyone always saying “pase adelante, pase adelante”….that was nice!
Did a few people gave me the “stare”? Sure, but they do that in Europe too. Do they have racist people in El Salvador? Yes, but you can also find these types of people in almost every country in the planet. As was never harass or mistreated because of my very dark skin complexion.
My basic rule is treat others the way you want to be treated. It works most of the time.
I have been perusing these forums because I am planning another trip. This time I would like to stay at a waterfront resort/hotel.
Panama: David, Panama:
Not sure why you are posting the same inquiry. Just read the responses to your previous post title "OMG another one". Information on transportation to/from Panama, David was provided there.
Panama: OMG another one:
You can travel to David from Panama via land or air.
By land, you have the option of renting a car or using the local bus service. The trip takes about 7 hours with a 1/2 hr break in a town call Santiago. Buses are somewhat modern and sufficiently comfortable. The bus terminal (www.grantnt.com) is located in the Albrook area next to the Albrook Mall (www.albrookmall.com) which is across from the Albrook Airport (PAC), also known as Aeropuerto Marcos A. Gelabert.
By air, from the Albrook airport you can take a 2 ½ hrs flight from Panama to David. There are two major regional airlines, AeroPerlas (www.aeroperlas.com) and AirPanama (www.flyairpanama.com). You can make your reservations online.
Goo luck!
