Ecuador: Any University Jobs in Quito & Cuenca?:
Could anyone recommend any Universities in Quito or Cuenca where Americans can teach? Looking for work when we move there (have taught at US University & have my MBA). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Safety - Kidnapping, muggings, pickpockets:
I recently read a book called Culture Shock Ecuador and it had a lot about safety issues. What is the reality of kiddnapping and muggings in Cuenca and Quito (for Americans living there)? We have a small child and just want to know what we are getting into. Thanks!

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Question @ el Banos:
OK I know this is a gross subject, BUT it must be asked if one is thinking about moving to Cuenca or Quito. I have read that there are limited clean public bathrooms (and availablity is rare) and adding to this you can't flush "paper" but instead must put it in the trash (YIKES)? Is there any truth to this please advise. The no paper policy sounds really bad.

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Teaching English in Ecuador?:
Interested in hearing what the reality of teaching English in Ecuador/Cuenca is and if it is a viable job option? Also is one certificate more widely accepted than another (if so which one - TESOL, TEFL, other). Thank you in advance for all the great info.

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Health Risks:
What health concerns should we prepare for with regard to moving to Ecuador? I have read about some very serious diseases (Malaria, Hepatitis, Dengue Fever) should we be concerned?
