Uruguay: Moving to Montevideo:

Hi, Since there are so many things going on in Uruguay I would recommend the following. Have a trusted friend, transfer dollars periodically to a Uruguayan bank of your choice. Such as BankBoston, Citibank, ETC. That way you have less money at risk in Uruguayan banks. My personal opinion is that uruguay will not survive allowing people to have accounts in dollars and in pesos and being able to remove money in both currencies so I expect them to begin restricting the access of dollars in the next six to 12 months. Hope this help a little bit.
