Nepal: driving in nepal:

Not sure if my information is correct or not but I read that there are no car rental agencies in Nepal where one could rent a car and drive yourself. Is this correct? If so (besides looking online) where does one find an affordable and reliable driver & car for more than just half or one day?

Nepal: volunteering to Nepal in 2012:

I am a 50 year male and will be spending a couple of months in Nepal volunteering. Kathmandu & Pokhara. I'm wishing to exchange contact info with anybody already living in Nepal, coming from North America (Canada) or elsewhere abroad. I'm also interested making connections regarding accommodations in both cities. Preferably private, one bedroom apartments. Based on my experience after my volunteer work a full move to Nepal is very possible. Does anybody know of other Nepal related chat boards? Thanks all!
