Haiti: Mobile Internet?:

In preparations to move to Haiti next month, one of my major priorities will be communication with people back home. What would you say is the quality of mobile internet, what can I expect to pay for it, and is there a provider that is better than the rest? (I will be living near Kenscoff.)

Haiti: Banking or Money Transfers?:

I am soon moving to Haiti for an extended period working with a non-profit based in the U.S. In keeping my own money separate from the monthly support coming into the organization from the U.S., what is the best (and cheapest) way to receive funds from the U.S.? Bank transfers or money wiring services like WesternUnion? And if bank to bank transfer, how difficult is it for an American to get a local bank account? What bank would you recommend? And what information will they require of me to open the account?
