Bahamas: flight path noise?:
I live right across from the airport in Tropical Gardens and don't find it to be too bad, to be honest. And we are in the direct flight path :)
Maybe I have just grown to tune it out over the past year. I also don't think Melia is bad. Stayed there a few times prior to moving and the new restaurants have good food, BEAUTIFUL beach and the rooms we had were well maintained.
Bahamas: Help needed with Doctors Hospital Bill:
Hi Galaxy,
Shoot me a PM. I think I can help.
Many thanks.
Bahamas: Giving birth in the Bahamas:
I agree with Tingum whole heartedly; however, if it is high risk then my physician has always advised it may be best to deliver in the US as opposed to here simply because of the availability of the NICU here. Doctor's Hospital cannot treat neonatal intensive care patients, only the public hospital Princess Margaret can (and I wouldn't recommend that route). With this being said I think it just depends on your specific situation.
There are plenty of qualified physicians here - the only issues I have ever encountered were due to lack of equipment.
Bahamas: Need a photographer in Bahamas - easy work, much money:
I always use Barry Williams Photography.
Bahamas: East Side or West side condo:
Personally I love living out east. And I walk every single night right before sunset and have had absolutely no problems at all, so I tend to disagree. The homes off eastern rd especially are gorgeous. There's grocery stores, not too far from the mall, close to PI and there are some really awesome places on Bay St (harbour bay, Lucianos, green parrot, balduccinos). I think out west is nice but I love out east. I will be starting work out in cable beach in two weeks and that's the only reason I'd consider moving west. So I think it just depends who you ask.
Bahamas: Looking for IT Consultant job:
Colina is hiring a director of IT
Colina.com and then careers section :-)
Bahamas: Cars from Japan:
I know SBT Japan has a good rep. My bestie just ordered a really nice Nissan Teana from them she paid about 7 grand including all import duties tariffs etc. It's really nice- navigation, back up camera, clean, the passenger seat even reclines and has a foot rest. Google the company you can view the car online prior to purchasing.
Bahamas: Casino Salaries:
BahaMar or Atlantis? From what I've been told management salaries differ between the two.
Bahamas: Moving from UK to Bahamas:
My mother in law lived in Marsh Harbour, Abaco for a few years and loved it but grew tired of the such slow pace. I have visited and it is BEAUTIFUL! There is Hope Town, Treasure Cay and other places to visit but not much to do outside of the beach, reataurants, and small bars. Very quiet and safe for the most part. Abaco does also have some issues with illegal immigrants and shanty towns but not to the point where it's dangerous. There's no movie theater or mall. Pretty much just small shops, a KFC, grocery store, furniture store, a health clinic. Needless to say most people travel to Nassau or Florida for major shopping, etc. If you like fishing there's marinas and lots of boating activities also. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and if it wasn't so expensive I would consider either Abaco or Eleuthera to start my family with the hubby. Gas is $6.50 a gallon plus! :-(
Bahamas: Maternity Care in Nassau:
I would recommend the below practice. My husband and I plan on going there when I'm ready to conceive. Dr. Lyons delivered my stepson at Doctors Hospital and my husband said he is amazing. Everyone around town I asked say all the doctors at this practice are awesome. They have offices downtown and in Sandyport I believe.
Thanks!
Allie
