Family car for sale, bargain price at only 7,000 euros and it's just been serviced and had it's MOT.
It belongs to one of my work colleagues who is German, so it's immaculate and she has been the only owner.

Luxembourg: Car & Apartment in Belair Needed (moving from New York):
http://www.alpina.lu
try alpina who rent lovely properties they build and renovate.
there are 2 three bedroom properties available. 1 of them in walferdange where we live. it's 7 minutes by train to city centre, great fascilities for kids (i have 4) swimming pool/health club, supermarket, cricket, rugby, football, athletics, really nice area surrounded by forest too. email me bbcgillym@hotmail.com if you have questions about the area. gilly (PS also we bought a new car from Germany, because the prices for used cars here are expensive. We paid 28,000 euros for a new Toyota Verso (7 seater) from Germany with 5 year warrantee and winter tyres. I found expats selling used cars were asking for silly money and garage prices for used cars are also crazy. Toyota gives the 5 year warrantee for peace of mind!
Luxembourg: Schools:
We are also moving from UK and have researched schools carefully and visited them all.... It depends on the needs of your kids. We have guaranteed access to European School and were offered a place in English section, but I felt the class sizes were too high (30) and it was too big a school. The teaching is varied, because the teachers come from around the world. It offers little support to kids with any learning difficult. ISL had good reviews but it was to expensive for us, compared to European School and St Georges. I was very impressed with St Georges and one of my kids will start there in September. I think it's up to parents to be on top of kids work so I think you'd be fine with any school if you keep on top of things. Obviously European School insist on 2 main language, so they do work the kids harder with language education etc St Geroge's seems to have a caring atmosphere and felt like a lovely school environment. What about local schools? I am sending my 3 other kids to the local school and they are in classes of 14, you wouldn't get that at any private school, though maybe at St Georges! Despite low OECD ranking, language and maths standards are high. You could start local and then transfer if your kids were struggling and that way you could integrate with locals too. Good luck! Maybe visit the schools and see what you think. At the end of the day, a school is only part of the education, and so much more about what we as parents put into it, so you'll be fine anywhere I'm sure. If you're paying yourself like we are, European School is cheapest, then St G's then ISL which is most expensive!
Luxembourg: Best phone/tv provider?:
Moving from the UK, with no access to relocation allowance etc but we have bought a house in Walferdange and move in August 1. I need to organise broadband to be up and running for August 1 and access to TV and mobile phone number Here's the questions:
1. Cheapest way to get phone and broadband? Are there choices?
2. We need to have access to German/French TV but also BBC TV (BBC1,2,3, 4) is this possible?
3. What mobile phone provider has best coverage? Orange?
Very grateful for any advice. Thanks.
Luxembourg: 3 bed plus house for family?:
We're looking for a 3 bedroom or more house to rent, ideally for a short term rental (6 months) but long rental considered from July or August. Any areas/sizes considered. We will be looking to buy a house once we are settled in Lux. Thanks.
Luxembourg: Family of 6 need rental house for July move to Luxembourg:
We are moving to Luxembourg from Edinburgh in July and looking to rent a minimum 3 bedroom house/flat (ideally 5 or 6 bedroom property). We are open to areas in and out of city but must be beside an excellent state Luxembourg school. We have visited and would ideally like to rent in Limpertsberg although would consider Bonnevoie, Merl and Belair too. Also Bertrange etc...the schools being the most important issue for us...My husband is visiting again on April 18 so we can view then and I will be returning in June to view properties. Also if anyone has any tips about how to go about renting, We won't have access to a relocation agent and the move expenses are not covered by the university, so we'd be grateful if anyone knows of anyone leaving a suitable property. If July was not suitable we could potentially move in August or September. Thanks for your help.
Luxembourg: Relocating To Luxembourg:
Hi, We are moving - early July, or potentially early August depending on when we find the right house, but we're quite flexible.
Luxembourg: Family of 6 move to Luxembourg?:
Any advice about good estate agents to contact to discuss what one could buy for 600,000 Euros. Looking on-line, the houses for this price seem to be on busy streets but it's diffiult to tell because there are no addresses on the estate agents website. We are looking for minimum 3 bedrooms, ideally 5 bedrooms. We had been looking at Bonnevoie area and within easy reach of city centre. Re/ mortgages in Luxembourg. Does anyone know what multiple of salary for a mortgage is? What is the norm in Luxembourg? 2 times salary or 3 times or 4 times? Cheers, A.
