Costa Rica: Relocation/Retirement Tours:

Hey Tico regalado, if you have clients looking at Costa Rica real estate, tell them to check https://www.godutchrealty.com/costa-rica-real-estate-testimonials-2.html

Costa Rica: Long Term Rental Search:

try https://american-european.net/ with 29 offices from coast to coast.

Costa Rica: Residential House Foreclosures:

Gil is right about the foreclosures. They are there, of course banks also foreclose in Costa Rica. The banks insist or recovering their investment, so you won't find a cheap foreclosure. The good stuff goes before anyone gets to even see it and. You WILL find three types of MLS in Costa Rica. One is the CCBR, the board of realtors in the Central Valley. They don't work exclusives so you will find the same property advertised with different data and prices: http://mls-cr.com/en The second one is the board of realtors in the north Pacific: http://www.crgar.com/ And third, our American European Real estate Group's MLS with over 1,500 properties countrywide: http://american-european.net/

Costa Rica: Work on the West Coast:

You can also purchase a property for $200K, which has to be registered in the municipality for that value (so you'd be paying more property taxes). Check out this blog: http://american-european.net/article-residency-in-costa-rica-_-temporary-residency-as-an-investor-129.html

Costa Rica: Ticos dislike all foreigners?:

I have lived in Costa Rica for over 30 years and while there is a lot more violence on the roads and there is more petty thievery ten 30 years ago, I find the Ticos still the nice and easy going people they have always been. They like to go the easy way and not take any responsibility for anything, but they are so much nicer than our neighbors in Panama and Nicaragua. On the other hand, I find lots of gringos (any foreigner) think they know it better, that things should be done differently and that they have the right to scream at people. If you have any plans to move to Costa Rica, check on this blog, it will help you not to become "another ugly american": http://godutchrealty.com/blog/is-costa-rica-paradise-or-hell.html Ivo

Costa Rica: Work out clases:

Hi Lee, the closest I know of is in Atenas: Tracy at tltippin@gmail.com Ivo GoDutch Realty

Costa Rica: Mail in Cost Rica:

I wrote a blog on the issue a while ago, you might find it interesting: http://godutchrealty.com/blog/should-i-use-the-costa-rica-post-office-or-not.html

Costa Rica: Immigration:

When you leave the US, the airline desk will not allow you to get onto the flight without a return ticket. Ivo

Costa Rica: TOWNS to Live in Costa Rica...:

Hi WorldTraveler 7, many of the places you mention are almost the same place but with a different name. or its a township and the other is a neighborhood in the same township. Like Brasil de Mora (belongs to Ciudad Colon) and La Trinidad is part of Brasil de Mora. Radial a Belen is not a town, it is a road going from Santa Ana to Belen and different neighborhoods come off that road. To make it easier on you, check http://american-european.net/page-search-costa-rica-real-estate-from-coast-to-coast-19.html If you have any questions, just ask. This website also has lots of info about schools in CR in the different areas, lots of blogs about living in CR and moving here. You'll also find lots of interesting blogs on http://godutchrealty.com/blog.html Don't move here with your family before you have checked it all out. Make a scouting trip here, rent a car and drive the country. That is the best advise I can give you Ivo.

Costa Rica: SCHOOLS in Costa Rica...need advice:

We don't have any agents in Cartago, therefore I don't have any info on schools there. This website though, carries info on schools on the east-side of San Jose: http://american-european.net/page-costa-rica-schools-207.html I find Cartago has "Colegio Saint Edwards" www.saintedwardsschoolcr.com saintedwardsschoolcr.com@gmail.com phone 2591-0912 and "Colegio Bilingue Sangrado Corazon de Jesus" escuelasagrado@yahoo.es and phone 2551-0832 . I hope this helps.
