Australia: Sydney neighborhoods and schools:

Hello, We will be moving to Sydney in Jan/03. My wife will be taking a PhD in Law at Un of Sydney, I am looking for opportunities (currently at McKinsey in Brazil). Her visa application requires that our sons (2 and 5ys) be enrolled in school before we arive. We don't know Sydney and are looking for any tips. Can anyone recommend neighborhoods where we could live? Commuting is not a problem, good schooling and cost of living is more important. Wife's school is CDB, I don't know where I'll be. Has anyone any insights about day care or pre-school? I'm doing a blind search, have no idea of what I'm applying to. Thank you in advance, Paulo
