Nicaragua: Matagalpa vs. Jinotepe:
Who is the first one?
Mexico: attorney in Matzalan:
Seems that I heard that the law firm of Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe were negotiating with a previously underworked attorney specializing in fleecing US retirees. I think his last known address was 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Mexico: Stray Dogs in Lake Chapala area:
Seems like there's an echo in here.
Nicaragua: Property vs. Location:
I'm glad you took the time to explain all that and I hope it is all taken in the spirit it was offered. God Bless.
Guatemala: Netflix video about Guate:
I just became aware of a very rewarding video about 4 norteamericanos who went to Guate for 8 weeks and volunteered to live on $1 a day, like a lot of poor guatemaltecos are forced to do. I was told about this video by Tom of Xelapages. It is available on netflix or you can see information about it on YouTube. It is eye-opening! Despierta America.
Ecuador: Never Lived Abroad:
It is good that you are seeking information and guidance. However, beware that there are disreputable gringos on this and every expat site who only seek to suck you into whatever scam it is that they are running. You have had response already from at least one who would make you think that everything is perfect here for you if only you sign up for their individual scam or propaganda. There are many here who are hiding in plain sight from their malfeasance in US. At least one former scammer is now in prison in US for child trafficking. Beware!
Mexico: Tequisquiapan, Mexico:
Do a search for tequistom on this forum, send him a private message, and you'll likely get more info than you need. buena suerte
Ecuador: Watch Out for Pollyanna:
Yeh, I am looking to get kicked here for being the messenger bearing bad news. This is for the babes in the woods who don't want to know that there are several posters on this forum who are expats here in Ecuador who hype themselves and their success stories in order to fleece other expats. If you don't want to listen then you'll likely learn this fact some other way on your own. If you don't want to believe that someone here is selling out and moving back home and you have believed the lies spread by certain posters at least keep your eyes open and like Forrest Gump said in the book, not the movie, "Always keep your B.S. detector in good working order.
Guatemala: Airport pick-up service:
Try Patricia's Guesthouse in GC, 2261-4251 or website www.patriciashotel.com or if Pat's is full, try Hermano Pedro, 2261-4181. Both are near airport in Zona 13 and will take good care of you for reasonable rate. They will fix you up with good transport next day directly to Xela most probably. Buena suerte.
Nicaragua: Animals in Nic.:
You have several good points Laperro. We who suffer along just seeing the inhumane status and treatment of animals, especially dogs, in CA have a real problem thinking about living there. I agree with you in that it might just be too big a burden to see all that. However, some of us believe that God hears and answers prayer for animals too. As Martin Luther once said, we should "sin bravely" and looking the other way or avoiding knowing about the problem is not in keeping with our sensitivity. Doing even one small thing to help is what we are called to do in the least. Buena suerte and God bless you.
