Some Forum Posts:

Mexico: In answer to "have you eexperienced anti amercanism thread.:

Hardly anyone is addressing the question posed (me too now, I guess), which is whether you have experienced antiamericanism in Mexico. Disappointing. I can watch TV or read paper and get opinions and speculations all over the place. Don't need this.

Mexico: Crime in Mexico?:

It would be nice if there was a way to vette some of the people that put out opinions and answers to people that really need help. Not to stop opinions but to know if some of these people have a clue what they are talking about or just trolls full of hot air (or maybe somewhere in between).

Belize: US car in Belize:

Are there substantial barriers to driving to Belize and keeping your car there? (I know there are in Mexico.) Additionally, I know back in the old days it was popular to bring US used cars to Belize to sell. I imagine this is no longer true but would appreciate some confirmation. Thanks.

Mexico: Road trip north to south:

No, but my brother in law is currently doing so. Will ask him for input when he returns.

Mexico: Which Pacific Coastal Comminity?:

I really hope you get an answer but this forum seems to be full of irrelevant pontification by anonymous 'experts'. Since you may thinking I'm falling into my own categorization, are you looking at Baca, or coastal communities further down, or both?

Mexico: Baja Living?:

Wondered if any comments on Baja California and suitability of various areas there for a Californian/New Mexican. Prefer living outside a city but wonder about safety and at least access to urban area for shopping. Like the idea of ability to drive there and to get back to states if necessary, plus climate and access to ocean. Have been down there many times but not in last 20 years. Retired, very active physically, living on about $1800 month.

Uruguay: Puzzled By Expat Attitudes:

Several years ago I spent a couple of months in Uruguay. Admittedly, not long enough to get a clear picture, esp. without a car, but long enough for me not to want to return. Lots of European influences, like Argentina, but to me it seemed more like Eastern Europe. People in Montivideo have told me they look down on those from Buenos Aires, considering them too passionate, and saw sone negative attitudes towards gays from B.A. Argentina seems much more wide open, diverse, culturally satisfying. I am no authority on either country, though I heard a lot of stories from a relative who lived in Argentina and Chile in the 1930s, but if I had to pick one to return to and perhaps stay I know traveling around Argentina would be amazing.

Mexico: A different Moving-to-Mexico basis:

Sorry, but sometimes negativity and fear are warranted. Sadly, you are so right. Even if not as bad as some may fear, it won't be good.and don't want to be here (alive, just not in US) when it happens.

Panama: Trump Won - I'm outta here!:

Wonder how many ways you or your family has been subsidized by govt that you are either too dumb or too dishonest to acknowledge or appreciate.
