Israel: australian psychologist looking for work in Israel:

To be honest, from my experience of living there I think you will find it difficult. What is your work visa for Israel going to be based on? From what you say, doesn't sound like you're making aliyah so are you moving there under a company sponsorship or what? If you dont' have a visa you can only get a 3 month tourist visa on entry and you'll have to leave before the 3 months is up.

Israel: moved to bat yam activities to meet people:

There are 2 conversations going on in this post - one person said she was moving here soon and looking to rent an apartment - so David supplied a website he said helped him the 1st time! He wasn't addressing it to the Canadian looking to socialise :-) To the initial person that posted are you male or female? I got in touch with a female dragon boating team when I moved here first they were looking for additional members, also I know of a women's 7s rugby team that are looking for members too. I'm sure there would also be male rugby and dragon boating but I don't have contacts for that, only for the female ones!

Israel: Possibly moving to Haifa Israel:

No of course there are no rules re: unmarried couples living together! ;o) It's a free soceity in Israel - it's like a western soceity except you won't find a shopping mall open on Shabbat and you can't buy bread in most supermarkets during Passover etc....as for getting a visa and finding work - I got my job before I came here and my job organised my visa for me. I don't know anything about just turning up here and finding a job, I'd imagine it could be quite difficult.

Israel: bringing dogs to Israel:

They love dogs in Tel Aviv, almost everyone has one. Jerusalem not so much.

Israel: Living in TA with only one car:

Rental cars are not that expensive. You can get one for approx 500 euro a month. You will need a car probably - with kids you always need a car?! :-)

Israel: Internet (ISP):

Hi Michelle, sorry I'm not in a position to help you with this one. I have wired high speed broadband at work which is perfect. In the apartment I have a wireless USB internet stick which work pays for, it's so-so. So I can't be of much help....you would need someone who has wired internet access in their home to help you. Re: english speaking customer care here, I wouldn't be terribly hopeful, I get an israeli colleague to ring up for me if i have an issue with e.g. my mobile phone voicemail.

Israel: Iranian refugees in Israel:

You're obviously joking right ?!?!

Israel: Can i move to Israel? Please!:

Hi Clare, did you get here? My boyfriend and I are irish and we are not jewish, we moved here on 7th Jan to start work on 8th Jan. Work have hired a law firm to sort out our visas for us. I think after the initial application it takes about 45 days before it comes thorugh, then you have to go home and collect your visa in the israeli embassy in your home country (Dublin for us) and then come back and surrender your passport and it comes back in less than a fortnight with the visa in it! Hope that helps.........we had our jobs before we came though so I can't be of that much help!
