we ran into the same thing re esl in rome withte brits who run the show in esl however there are lot of other places where you can teach or the best way is to start up your own to hose who are gonna retire in a village with the folks its not easy but it can be done have as much money as you can when you go =1= pretend you dont have much money or else your relatives will wipe you 0ut 2 = be prepared to work under the table do contras anything to make your self employed 3 = go at it with a spirit of adventure the italians will try to rob you blind even your relatives dont invest in any dodgy business 4= find what the italian regione will fund you in any business thing dont rely on esl 5 unless you are a millionaire eat at home buy at the market etc etc 6 its a great thing but you have to realize you need to leave your ego at home and plough through in italia the squeaky wheel gets the grease 7= dont get to close to the paisans until you can trust them 8 make sure you ahve a pouch for your wallet finally 9= enjoy la bella vita
